Leagues and Tournaments
Polo Golf & Country Club offers multiple men’s and women’s golf leagues and countless tournaments throughout the year that provide the opportunity for competitive play and promote camaraderie.
Polo Men’s Golf Association
The Polo Men’s Golf Association (PMGA) is open to all male golfers. Its mission is to “enhance the golf experience at Polo by fostering a closer bond and fraternity for its members while promoting the best interest and true spirit of the game of golf as embodied in its ancient and honorable traditions.” Each year the PMGA hosts multiple tournaments with computer-drawn pairings, parties and other social functions, such as:
- The President’s Cup
- Spring and Fall Member-Member
- Four-Ball President’s Cup
- Superintendent’s Revenge
- Club Championship
- Senior Club Championship
- Member-Guest
There are also smaller specialized groups within the PMGA such as The G-Men, The Posse, The Saturday Morning Walkers Group, Weekday Senior Men’s Group, The Myers Group, Sand o’ Bandits, and Friday Points Group. In addition, the PMGA supports Special Olympics Golf as well as other local charities.
Polo Ladies Golf Association
The Polo Ladies Golf Association (PLGA) is designed to give women the opportunity to develop friendships at the club through the game of golf. There is a group for women golfers of all ages and abilities to play in.
- Polo Nine-Holers – This group plays fun formats weekly and is perfect for beginners and those looking to socialize through a short round of golf
- 18-Holers PLGA – Playing weekly and participating in two intra-club leagues, Tara Interclub and Chick with Sticks, 18-Holers PLGA is ideal for the golfer who enjoys competitive play
- Polo Saturday Ladies – Playing every Saturday, this group is for the working lady golfer
- Par Tee Ladies - Playing Wednesday evenings
In addition, all three ladies groups play in a large two-day member guest every year.
